How to - Install a new Monitor

Your New Monitor will come with some of or all of the connections shown above. Your display connections on your PC will look the same as these.
Only one (1) of these connections needs to be used.
Which is the best to use ?
VGA which stands for “Video Graphics Array” is the oldest of the three and uses an Analog signal which is limited by bandwidth which prevents higher resolutions.
DVI which stands for “Digital Video Interface” gives a Digital signal which gives higher resolutions. It generally does not carry audio.
HDMI which stands for “High Definition Media Interface” gives a high resolution picture. It can carry both Video and Audio.
Generally your new monitor will come with one (1) VGA and one (1) DVI cable. If this is the case use the DVI cable. In the event you are also supplied a HDMI cable then that is the one to use.
With the VGA and DVI cables DO NOT tighten the screws too much, they need only be finger tight.
